Guangzhou Travel Diary Part 3

I love hotel rooms with a good view.  So the moment we got back from the cathedral, I had a change of clothes and we took photos before we checked out.  I didn't have my camera with me, so the photos below and from my previous posts were taken with Carlos' and my phone.  Hence, the low quality.

Guangzhou Travel Diary Part 2

So we decided to have breakfast at the hotel the next day before exploring.  It was a buffet where they had both western and local cuisines.  The food was really good, so I just had to go back for seconds.  Technically, we both did.

Guangzhou Travel Diary

Guangzhou, aka Canton, is the capital city of the Guangdong province and I was so glad to know that the Cantonese dialect is widely spoken there.  Ah yes, something I understand and can converse with.  I'm assuming that the dialect originated in that part of China, but I could be wrong so look it up if you're interested in the subject.

I was never interested in travelling to other parts of China, but last year, I had an epiphany that maybe I should since I live in this country anyway.  And it'd be too narrow minded of me to think or even generalize that every part of China is the same when in fact, every city is unique in their own way.

The Weekend Project

Twenty seventeen's been off to a great start.  I've been doing a lot of planning recently on what I want to achieve, do and see this year.  While some of them may still be tentative, I'm booked for the next couple of weekends and I'm excited!  I was never really much of a planner and yet here I am doing what I can before I actually think of settling down.  Ah yes, talk about irony.

I've decided to make the next couple of weekends a project to see whether I'll be able to succeed in terms of maximising time given that I'll only have a limited amount.  Here's to trying to be productive in the first couple of weeks of the year!

I was in Guangzhou last weekend with Carlos (aka my partner in crime) so that was a great way to start - travelling wise.  I'll be posting photos in my next post so stay tuned!  Meanwhile, it's the middle of the week so have a wonderful rest of the week and cheers to almost the weekend being here!

A do over ♥

Another year is about to come to an end and just like every year-end, I am motivated to be better, start over and make plans that I can achieve.  Beginnings always give me a sense of hope for to me, they're like a reset button except things that have been done cannot be undone.  However, like I said there's hope for us to be better than our previous selves and of course wiser.
